May Their Souls Rest in Peace

Two Lebanese were among the 32 victims of the unfortunate mass murder in Virginia Tech two days ago; Ross Alameddine and Reema Samaha.

Ross Alameddine, 20, was a student from Saugus, Massachusetts. The sophomore English major was shot during French class, a family friend told The Associated Press. A Facebook page created in Alameddine's memory called him "an intelligent, funny, easygoing guy who will be greatly missed." http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2306518847

Reema Samaha, 18, was a first-year student of Lebanese descent at Virginia Tech and went to the same high school in Centersville, Virginia, as the shooter, Cho Seung-Hui. Her father, Joseph, described her as a "shy girl till you got to know her." She was looking forward to majoring in urban planning with a minor in international relations because "she thought she could solve the problems of the world," her father said. Samaha, remembered as a beautiful and creative dancer, performed the weekend before the shootings, which marked the last time her parents saw her alive. "I keep her in my mind," her father said. "Her face is in my mental vision. It keeps me going." A facebook group was created in Samaha's memory: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2364103513

Thank you for posting these pictures. I don't have a Facebook account so I would have missed them.

Such a tragedy. May they rest in peace...

may all those that lost their lives at vt rest in peace.
of course now fox news is taking this tragedy and turning it into an anti muslim message because the killer had ismael ax on his arm and they are saying he was inspired by islam....and so the spin and blame game begins.
i hope we here in america learn something from this awful tragedy.
failasoof, thanks for posting about this, considering iraq is faced with this on a daily basis, palestine is under this threat everyday and lebanon of course has its fair share of problems.
peace

It's so sad, ironic maybe, that we Lebanese always get caught up in the worst of things...

God bless Reema and Ross and may they rest in peace...and i hope their families can find some sort of serenity and hope to go on

And please, buckeye, don't turn this tragedy into an "everyone hates muslims" episode...the guy also made references to Jesus and Moses in his video (saying he was sacrificing himself for others like Jesus) and also referenced the Columbine killers. No one in the media has said ANYTHING about Islam being a factor in the murder and I challenge you to find an article or news clip that brings up such a message
