Seniora...Yet another Challenge

PM Seniora and its government are facing yet another challenge recently. After what was considered a "victory" to Lebanon by PM Seniora, it seems that UNSC resolution 1701 was not approved by HA. Rumors say that HA was welling to go along with the resolution, but when Israel clearly said that "Shebaa Farms are out of question", HA reconsidered his its decision, putting PM Seniora and its cabinet in an ugly situation. Others says that HA never approved the UN resolution, but the government tried to change its mind, which failed dramatically and led to postpone the Government meeting tonight.

Minister Areedi and Minister Fatfat both said that "the government needs farther discussion of the UN resolution" before the government meets again, but reporters say that HA refused to discuss disarming its arsenal, or to withdraw north of the Litani river as long as Shebaa Farms issue is not solved.

Lebanese government is once again under huge pressure. In fact, the whole "State Project" that we all hoped to become a reality is at jeopardy now. But we have to give PM Seniora some credit, he have proven many times that he is the man of difficult times, and up till now, he was successful in achieving what was considered the impossible itself.

Let's just hope that this struggle comes to an end soon, specially that we started to believe that this war finally had come to an end..Let's just pray and cross our fingers....

"Siniora has proven to be the man of these difficult times"???? Give me a break, what to the H%$#@ has he done besides appeasing HA?

He managed to make a whole Lebanese agreement on a 7-point-plan. he got the full support of the arab league, forcing them to go to the UN. He managed to re-write the UN resultion, making Liban gain a dilomatical gain that was impossible to achieve. He is a real Lebanese leader who care about Liban more than he care making a name for himself, sth very rare in our politicians.

Do not cut the man short, what he did and is still doing is beyond description.

I guess the new metric for leadership and achievment is to do the minimal one is expected to do, Of course he went to Rome with a 7 point plan, so what did you expect from the PM whose country is at war attending a conference whose only pourpose is to discusss a possible solution to the conflict. It is not as if these 7 points were so creative and original, anyone withsome knowledge of the crisis could have come up with these seven points. We have been talking about Shebaa, sovereignty, prisoners etc for years. If you want to give him credit for such a non achievement then I wonder what you would do if he would ever develop a gackbone to demand respect for Lebanese government authority, a plan to disarm HA, the courage to recall the Lebanese ambassador from Tehran , to order the Lebanese army to deploy ion the southern border, to form a new cabinet without HA representatives...

FaiLaSooF,
I am unclear about your position, do you think HA should disarm south of the Litani as stated in 1701?

ghassan,
you don't seem to know the Lebanese situation. You know very wel that the idea of deplying LAF in souhern Lebanon was never accepted by many parties in Lebanon, saying that it will serve as a "border observer" for Israel; shitty stupid logic i kno, but that was the point of view of many parties. Calling the Lebanese ambasador in ehran is like declaring war on HA, you to understand that you can't do such a thing in Liban, because then Tehan may ask HA to use its arsenal inside Lebanon, this would lead to another civil war.
What Seniora did is CHANGING the current situation. Making a cabinet without HA or FPM is comitting suicide, specially that these two parties are not only in alliance, but they represent the majority of shite and maronite communities. Just making the whole cabinet (and you know the vast parties that makes this cabinet) agrees on a 7-point-plan and to deploy LAF in the south is not only a great achieveent, but a true miracle happening, once again, u need to know the lebanese atmosphere to understand what i'm saying.

e,
I believe that the Lebanese government should be the only authority with arsenal, so yes i am with disarming HA. Yet to have to understand that such move can't and will never happen while Israel is still in southern Lebanon. In fact, HA sasy that it would disarm itself once Israeli occupation is over, an you have to take into consideration IRAN's influence.
That's why I said that we need a real leader who can manuver and knows how to gain victory to the "STATE OF LEBANON" without civil war, or HA using its arsenal internally.

Ghassan I don't know why did u even bother to comment on what he has written!! These people will never understand because Seniora has brainwashed them all so let them sink in his LIES, ILLUSIONS and FAKE PROMISES.Anyways we are getting what we want "THANK GOD" and HA will never be disarmed unless they want to because HA are fighting for Lebanon and they're are not taking orders from anyone specially Iran as they think whereas Iran is helping us protect our country and save it from Israel which is what every country must have done during the war but they're all cowards. Finally God bliss LEADER SAYED HASSAN NASRALLAH the real HUMAN with true Feelings for his country LEBANON.
